How to write a resume

Over Six years of recruitment experience, having screened thousands of resumes and interviewing more than 3500 candidates, I have found very less professionally written resume and in some of the cases very identical as well. as if they have been copy pasted.

Am sure there are hell lot of peoples wondering about the actual reasons behind "We will get back to you" answer from the HR.

You prepare yourself to the best when you go for the interview. Ironed Shirt, Clean shaven, nice make up, Well dressed and every thing you can do to look best. but often the most ignored thing is the CV...

few people even forget carrying it for the interview. :)

Writing a professional CV/Resume is the most vital part of your job search. It's the first thing that a recruiter looks at. Wonder if it did not impress the recruiter and guess what you have missed that dream  Job or that X company you have been waiting for.

Few points to consider when writing that resume.

there are two important things to keep in mind when writing that job winning resume. Layout and Content

1. Layout or format: "KISS - Keep It Simple Silly", Do not ever think of making flashy or extra colorful to attract recruiters attention. It will cost you the job.

2. Content : recruiters search resumes on the basis of Keywords. use them very carefully. wrong keywords may cost you the job and the right mix of keywords may make you the star.

When you start writing your resume, there are few things that you should consider excluding and including.

Include your projects, Work experiences in detail, talk about your achievements and accomplishments, your skills and expertise, Strengths and qualities and yes try to show your value propositions.

Think of buying a shampoo from the market without enough information, sometimes we even look at the ingredients as well though most of us may not understand them. :)

How do you expect someone to buy you without proper information's???

You have got to market yourself in short sell your self. include every possible information that your next employer may feel useful.

Exclude unnecessary contents, lines, exaggerated words, formatting and stuffs nobody is interested in.

Hobbies : dancing, Listing music, reading books and making friends.

Hellllllooooo!!!!!! are you on a date???

write about your professional hobbies onlyyyy... no body is interested in finding out about your dance skill or musical knowledge at the time of getting interviewed for a professional position.
